The Helensville Bowling Club first started under the name of Awaroa Bowling Club in the season of 1913/14 The ladies club was established after the demise of the croquet club on the adjoining property in the 1952/53 season. Like many clubs through out the country both mens and ladies clubs amalgamated in the 1998/99 season. In 1985 the mens club shifted from the Auckland Centre to the North Shore Centre, now known as North Harbour. Glancing around the walls of the main lounge area it is obvious the club has always had it's share of talent. One can count 20 Auckland and 39 North Harbour centre titles. Adding to this impressive display there are three National titles. Helensville has also won the North Harbour Mens A Division Interclub competition five times in the last seven years.
The club's main tournament for the men is the Ross McMurdo Memorial Open Fours. This event was first played in 1968 after the untimely death of the former president in a car accident returning home from a day of bowls. This season it is to be run over the days TBA. With $3,000.00 prize money up for grabs the entries come from far and wide. This event can be entered here
The Women's main tournament is the Classic Fours on the weekend of TBA. Prize money of $1,000.00 certainly makes this event an attractive occasion. This event can be entered here
The popular Open Mixed Easter Pairs are to be held on the TBA. This event can be entered here

Fantastic bowling from our juniors in the Bowls 3 Fives. A win over Orewa in the morning and a second win over Mangawhai in the afternoon. Both games were fiercely competitive. They now go on to represent the club against Papakura to make the top 4. Congratulations Noel Stubbs, James Lomax and Callum Clark
